Transportation Lead
Our client is Seeking a Transportation Lead for their Ontario team, with multiple office locations available. You should be well-connected within the Ontario (particularly the GTA) municipal transportation market, technically competent, business savvy, have entrepreneurial spirit, and be excited to tackle the challenge of elevating the profile of our client's Transportation practice in Ontario.
Position Description : You will be responsible for driving forward their practice and potential development of a group working with others across Ontario, delivering services for various clients in the areas of : Transportation PlanningTransportation Master PlansBridges and StructuresActive Transportation Planning and related StudiesTraffic EngineeringTraffic Impact Studies and route assessmentsMunicipal Class Environmental AssessmentsRoad Safety assessments, analysis and related Impact StudiesConceptual, Functional and preliminary geometric road designThe role would develop into a Group Manager position based on the growth and development of the portfolio of work and projects within the Practice.
Key Responsibilities : Ensure financial success of the Practice within Ontario operations through proactive project management, quality management, hands-on delivery, and coaching project teams.
Support the Division Manager in developing the Transportation Practice in Ontario.Assist in managing administration, project delivery, business development, and strategic planning for the Transportation Practice.
Monitor and identify emerging trends and technologies in Transportation.Support project and proposal delivery across the Company as needed.
Manage day-to-day project operations and diverse project teams.Attend and contribute to technical symposia, conferences, and seminars.
Manage, guide, mentor, and coordinate staff.Assign resources and tasks to projects, engineers, and technologists, ensuring quality and completion within assigned hours.
Execute business development and marketing initiatives.Identify and secure necessary work to create a new Group, including pre-positioning efforts and strategic partnering discussions.
Lead the newly created Group in the pursuit process, including critical Go / No-Go evaluations, proposal preparation, technical content development, and pursuit approval from Division Manager, VP, General Manager, and Board as required.
Develop staffing requirements with Project Managers, Division Manager, VP, General Manager, and Human Resources Coordinator.
Assist with recruitment and career planning.Manage relationships with Clients, Contractors, and other consultants / partners.
Lead the delivery of Municipal Transportation infrastructure projects.Adhere to established policies and procedures within a COR registered environment.
Ensure compliance with all safety and non-safety rules and regulations.Expected Education and Professional Experience : Degree in Engineering (Civil, Transportation preferred) from an accredited university, with preference for a post-graduate degree in a technical or business-related field.
Registered as a professional engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or equivalent.10+ years of experience in planning, design, project management, and group management in the transportation sector.
5+ years of experience delivering related projects in Ontario.5+ years of experience managing, coaching, and mentoring project teams.
Proven experience in business development and growth, proactively identifying and capitalizing on opportunities.Ability to travel within Ontario and Canada.
