Summary Of Job Description
- Provide technical support for platform system architecture, system architecture design, derivation of system, software, and component level requirements, design and development of system architecture, system redundancy management, fault management, crew alerting, flight management, aircraft autonomy, actuation (hydraulic or electric), and system integration, verification, and validation in integrated lab environments and on flight test aircraft through all phases of development, qualification, integration testing, flight test, and production.
- Engage with Supply Chain and Hardware / Software Design to manage requirements and provide technical guidance and impact assessment resulting from obsolescence.
- Technical evaluation of suppliers and management of sub‑contracts including SOW, specifications, interface control documents, proposals, and schedules.
- Work with embedded software experts and suppliers within the scope of development, integration, and testing of flight controls and avionics systems.
- Qualification of flight control and avionics subsystems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful integration, flight test, and certification.
- Work with Quality and Certification to assure system design protocols are followed.
- Manage and provide status updates on IPT schedule, cost estimates, risks, and staffing requirements.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.Advanced degrees or related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.At least 10 years of experience in systems development, integration, and testing.At least 2 years of technical lead experience.Experience with derivation of system, software, and component level requirements, hardware / software integration, and system level verification / validation.Experience with embedded hardware and software integration in flight controls / aerospace software development in a real‑time operating system environment.Experience with industry test requirements such as RTCA DO‑160, MIL‑STD‑810, RTCA DO‑178, RTCA DO‑254, SAE ARP4754A, SAE ARP4761, 14 CFR Part 27 and Part 29 for commercial qualification and certification.Experience with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS) and associated processes.Experience or familiarity with MBSE methodology and framework is an asset.Experience with Flight Control Systems, Avionics, Electrical System, engine controllers (e.g., FADECs), inertial sensors, air data computers, analog sensors, mission systems, crew stations, and / or actuation devices.Experience with Safety Assessment Process per SAE ARP 4761, including Failure Hazard Assessment, System Safety Assessment, and Fault Tree Analysis.Experience with commercial aircraft certification with TCCA, FAA or EASA.Any other combination of schooling and experience deemed equivalent may be considered.Benefits Of Working At Bell Textron
