Sterling Crane has an exciting opportunity for a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Mechanic who is specialized in Mobile Cranes, based in our Winnipeg, MB location.

This is a full-time, hourly position (minimum 40 hours per week) with occasional overtime (weekends and after hours) if required.

Responsibilities :

• Troubleshooting, repairing, testing and inspecting mobile and crawler hydraulic cranes, boom trucks, trailers and light duty vehicles within an industry leading PM program.
• Determine parts required for service and repair to equipment in Sterling Crane's fleet.
• Provide detailed repair comments in both paper and electronic work orders

format.

Travel to other branch locations and job sites to perform required duties.

Qualifications :

• 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Duty Equipment Technician required.
• Must have previous experience as a mobile crane mechanic or technician, with knowledge or technical training in Cummins, Kobelco, Demag, Grove, Liebherr, Tadano, Link-Belt.
• Must have own tools, and experience in diagnosing manufacture systems using Jaltest programs.
• Class 1 CDL license with air brakes is required.
• Must be certified in First Aid, H2S, Fall Arrest, forklift / telehandler and CSTS.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate safe work practices, follow company policies and be able to work well both independently and as part of a team.
• Working experience on engine emission systems considered an asset.
• Working experience in electrical and hydraulic systems is required.
• Must supply own hand tools, a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge in FCC (Fleet Cost and Care) considered an asset.
• The successful candidate will be required to be in good standing with IUOE 987.
