Physiotherapist - Fraser Canyon Hospital - Hope

A unique rural opportunity for a Physiotherapist to join our team located in Hope, B.C. Hope is an outdoor paradise with a variety of recreational opportunities and a vibrant culture all surrounded by majestic mountains and breathtaking views.

Salary : The salary range for this position is CAD $42.56 - $52.95 / hour

Job Summary : Physiotherapists are an integral part of the health care team and provide support to many areas. Detailed Overview : Under general direction of the Professional Practice Chief, Physiotherapy, the Physiotherapist assesses, plans, implements, and monitors physiotherapy treatment to patients / residents. Delegates components of treatment to Assistants / Aides. As part of the interdisciplinary team, acts as a resource on issues relating to areas of physiotherapy expertise.

Responsibilities :

  • Provides clinical physiotherapy treatment, including assessment, problem identification, setting treatment goals, treatments and re-evaluation of patients / residents and patients in the community.
  • Delegates components of treatment to Assistants / Aides by instructing, observing and monitoring treatment provided to ensure quality patient / resident care.
  • Promotes awareness of good body mechanics to facility staff, patients / residents and families.
  • Maintains patient / resident records, clinical outcome measures and statistical data in accordance with department, facility, and professional standards.
  • Participates in development, implementation, and evaluation of the physiotherapy service by providing input and feedback to the Professional Practice Chief, Physiotherapy.
  • Participates in interdisciplinary, departmental and professional development to ensure awareness of current developments of evidence based physiotherapy practice.
  • Provides instruction, feedback, and supervision to students as required.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications :

  • Graduate of a recognized program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university.
  • Current full registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC and eligible for membership in the Physiotherapy Association of British Columbia (PABC).
  • Skills And Abilities :

  • Knowledge of evidence-based clinical practice related to designated clinical area.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess and treat diversity of conditions commonly seen in the relevant area of practice.
  • Broad knowledge of other health care disciplines and their role in client care.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients both one-on-one and in groups.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in collaboration with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide effective consultation.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish workload priorities in collaboration with others in a complex health care environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize when referral to another health care professional is required.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • Skill in the use of equipment, and in the techniques appropriate physical therapy treatment.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC standards for practice of physical therapy.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively deal with conflict situations.
