Job Summary

The Quality Physician Medical Leader role offers an exciting opportunity to lead and direct physicians and healthcare providers on quality and patient safety initiatives. The goal is to improve quality and reduce medical errors that contribute to adverse patient outcomes at each acute care site. You will collaborate with physician leaders and clinical staff to promote engagement and capacity building in quality improvement and work with senior leadership to implement evidence-based strategies for best practices.

Overview

The Medical Leader is a physician passionate about fostering a safety culture and establishing evidence-based patient care models to enhance patient safety. Reporting to the Executive Medical Director of Clinical Quality and Patient Safety, you will be part of the leadership team, including regional and local department heads.

This role requires approximately seven hours per month, including meetings and travel, with flexible hours. The position is for one year.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or advise on physician-driven quality improvement projects.
• Collaborate with quality and safety departments, leadership, and support systems to develop evidence-based patient care models.
• Identify educational needs and facilitate physician participation in safety activities.
• Support quality reviews and promote a just safety culture.
• Analyze safety indicators and recommend improvement strategies.
• Provide clinical input at quality committee meetings.

Active Privileges, CMPA, CPSBC Full.

Fraser Canyon Hospital.
