One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a Press Operator in Markham, ON region.
Shift - Night Shift
Key Responsibilities :
Set up, operate, and monitor the performance of stamping presses.
Load raw materials such as metal sheets or coils into the stamping press.
Ensure proper alignment and positioning of materials to achieve precise stamping results.
Install and adjust dies and tooling according to job requirements.
Verify die alignment and clearance to prevent damage to equipment and ensure consistent part quality.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to die setup and operation.
Conduct visual inspections of stamped parts to verify dimensions, surface finish, and overall quality.
Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to perform quality checks. Make adjustments to press settings as needed to meet quality standards.
Perform routine maintenance tasks on stamping presses, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
Work closely with other members of the production team, including supervisors, machine operators, and quality inspectors, to coordinate workflow and ensure timely completion of orders.
Communicate effectively to address any issues or concerns that may arise during production.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent qualification required; vocational training in machine operation or a related field preferred.
Proven experience as a press operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably with experience in stamping operations.
Familiarity with different types of stamping presses and associated equipment.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications.
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
