Our private sector client, an Ottawa-based CPA firm, urgently seeks a Junior Payroll Administrator to join their team on a hybrid basis (3 days a week on-site).

About you
To be considered, you will need :
- 2+ years of experience in full-cycle union and non-union Canadian payroll
- College Diploma in Business Accounting, bookkeeping or related field
- Working knowledge of at minimum one accounting software is required
- Working knowledge of workflow management tools and Microsoft Suite are assets
- Ability to manage a client portfolio for all client payroll needs
- Able to develop and maintain strong client relationships
- Willingness to take initiative and accept responsibility
- Have a strong learning mindset and can ramp up quickly for new clients and industries
- Ability to work under pressure and stay organized in a fast-paced environment with multiple assignments with deadlines / priorities
- Can thrive working independently and make sound judgements; problem solve as needed
About the role
If hired, you will :
- Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for multiple companies using online or desktop accounting / payroll software
- Integrate into the books and records of the client's clientele
- Follow up with clients as needed to maintain accurate payroll processes
- Work with clients to provide ad-hoc information as requested; problem-solve for clients when needed
- Provide monthly & quarterly reporting, including payroll, GST, HST, WSIB, EHT, etc.
- Communicate efficiently and effectively with the manager
- Identify new business opportunities with existing clients
- Maintain clear documentation for review by partners / managers or external entities (CRA)
