Sapphire Care is currently seeking a skilled and qualified Team Leader . This leadership position oversees a team of approximately 15 frontline staff delivering complex support services to individuals with disabilities.
This role combines main supervisory functions with some direct support / service responsibilities.
The day-to-day roles and responsibilities of the Team Lead are as follows :
- Train new hires by showing them how to perform tasks and orienting them to the company culture and work environment
- Complete Monthly and Quarterly Reports using data and observations obtained from staff.
- Oversee, delegate and participate in all aspects of running the household and the support programs in place
- Monitor team performance and report on metrics
- Discover training needs for existing staff and provide coaching
- Create monthly schedules with the person served according to their needs, interests, hobbies, and talents.
- Comprehensively understand the person served ISP and BSP to develop service delivery strategies that would best meet the needs of the individual.
- Advocate for the person served and provide and facilitate access to several employment, advocacy, and recreation services.
- Work directly with the person served as needed.
- Report to the Program Manager and the Program Director in fulfilling of deliverables
The successful candidate will :
- Be able to work alone and in a team
- Develop a positive and effective relationship with staff and Individuals we support
- Train and supervise the team according to Sapphire Care policies and procedures
- Have an in-depth knowledge of the policies and procedures of Sapphire Care
- Work closely with the Program Coordinator and other Team Leads to uphold agency standards and personal rights.
- Be flexible to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as required.
Required qualifications include :
- A minimum of 3 years experience in leadership or supervisory roles in disability services
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Proficient computer skills, especially MS Excel
- Formal postsecondary education
- The following training is preferred :
- Abuse prevention training
- Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training
- Abuse Prevention Response Protocol (APRP) training
- Trauma Informed Care (TIC) training
- Medication Administration training
- Mental Health First Aid
- Food Safety training and certification
- Trauma-informed care training
- FASD training
- Must have a reliable car with personal liability insurance with a minimum coverage of two million ($2,000,000.00) and SEF44 Protection Endorsement
- Successful candidates will need to provide a current Police Security Clearance.
