Overview
We are seeking an experiencedConstruction Managerto lead delivery of a large-scaleresidentialproject in Calgary. This role is accountable for end-to-end construction execution including direct oversight of the General Contractor coordination of external consultants and day-to-day control of schedule budget quality and risk.
Success in this role requires strong on-the-ground presence fast and sound decision-making and the ability to clearly communicate priorities and direction across a complex stakeholder group.
What You Will Do
Construction Leadership & Execution
- Lead construction execution through close-out with consistent on-site presence
- Maketimely well-reasoned decisions on construction sequencing and staffing issues
- Provide direct oversight of the General Contractor holding them accountable to scope schedule budget and quality standards
Schedule Budget & Decision-Making
Own the master construction schedule and actively manage risks to critical path itemsReview and approve schedules change orders draw requests and staffing plans with a bias toward speed accuracy and value-for-moneyMake prompt decisions to avoid delays cost overruns or ambiguity in the fieldTechnical & Building Systems Expertise
Apply strong working knowledge of structural envelope mechanical electrical plumbing fire protection and life-safety systemsIdentifyconstructability and integration issues early and drive practical cost-effective resolutionsEnsure workcomplies withdrawings specifications codes and approved design intentConsultant & Partner Management
Manage and coordinate external partners including architects engineers inspectors and specialty consultantsBuild andmaintaineffective working relationships with the GC consultants municipal authorities and ownershipLead coordination meetings to resolve issues quickly andmaintainmomentumCommunication & Reporting
Communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing with ownership consultants and site teamsProvide structured actionable updates on progress risks decisions and next stepsEscalate issues early with clear options and recommendationsQuality Safety & Compliance
