Job Summary
As People and Family Experience Coordinator, you will strengthen relationships between Autism Ontario and the autism community across Ontario. You will oversee regional programs, support volunteers, promote autism awareness, and collaborate with the Fund Development Team to advance our mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all region‑initiated programs, ensuring alignment with Autism Ontario policies and procedures.
- Support volunteers (parents, self‑advocates, professionals) to achieve identified goals, including quarterly engagement committee meetings and semi‑annual check‑ins.
- Work closely with the Fund Development Team on initiatives and actively recruit and manage volunteer opportunities.
- Attend local community partnership meetings, representing community needs and staying updated on resources.
- Organize and execute 3–4 Social Learning Opportunities per month and offer a minimum of one pre‑school / new diagnosis multi‑week program and one social event per quarter.
- Schedule, market, and deliver events, recruiting volunteer support and ensuring technology capabilities for all events in the assigned region.
- Evaluate and monitor program delivery, maintaining continuous records and updating relevant databases.
Qualifications
A degree or diploma in a related human services field (e.g., SSW, Volunteer Management).Minimum of 2 years of experience in program coordination, community engagement, or volunteer management, ideally within a non‑profit or social services setting.Experience supervising volunteers in a non‑profit setting.Experience planning and delivering community programs or events, including logistics, marketing, and evaluation.Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other developmental disabilities is an asset.Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.Lives within the assigned region or is willing to travel frequently.Bilingualism (French / English) considered an asset.Proficiency with computer programs including database management, email, Microsoft 365 applications, and familiarity with social media and technology tools.Demonstrated commitment to principles of social justice, neurodiversity, equity, inclusion, anti‑racism, anti‑Black racism, and anti‑ableism.Benefits
