Responsibilities
Develop & Evolve Deployed Gaming Services
- Design, implement, and enhance application services running in production gaming environments, focusing on stability, backward compatibility, and safe change.
- Extend existing services to support new integrations, features, and data flows without disrupting live operations.
Build and Support Integrations
Develop and maintain service integrations using REST APIs, asynchronous messaging, and event‑driven patterns.Work with Kafka‑based pipelines and other messaging systems to support real‑time game events, transactional flows, and operational integrations.Ensure integration reliability through proper error handling, retries, and versioning strategies.Deliver Code Safely in a Cloud‑Native Environment
Contribute to CI / CD pipelines to build, test, and deploy application code using Git‑based workflows.Support controlled rollout strategies (canary, blue / green) in collaboration with DevOps teams to minimize risk in live gaming systems.Operate Applications on AWS & Kubernetes
Develop and support applications deployed on AWS and Kubernetes‑based platforms.Understand how application design impacts scalability, resilience, and performance under peak gaming loads.Configuration, Automation & IaC Awareness
Work with infrastructure and configuration defined as code (Terraform, Helm, Ansible), focusing on application configuration, environment‑specific settings, and integration parameters.Collaborate with platform teams to ensure application requirements are correctly reflected in infrastructure and deployment templates.Observe, Learn & Improve
Use observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK / EFK) to monitor application behavior, integration health, and data flows.Participate in incident analysis, root‑causal investigations, and continuous improvement aligned with SRE principles.Collaborate To Shape The Gaming Experience
Work closely with DevOps, Platform, Security, and Game Development teams to deliver reliable features and integrations.Contribute to shared standards around APIs, integrations, deployment practices, and operational readiness.What You’ll Bring
Education
A College Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical field.Core Experience
3+ years in application development, backend engineering, or DevOps‑adjacent roles supporting production systems.Experience working with existing, live applications rather than greenfield‑only development.Technical Skills
Strong development experience in Java, Python, or similar backend languages.Experience building and consuming REST APIs and integrating with external or internal systems.Familiarity with event‑driven or messaging‑based systems (Kafka, queues, streams).Comfort working with CI / CD pipelines, Git workflows, and automated deployments.Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes from an application developer’s perspective.Awareness of IaC and automation tools (Terraform, Helm, Ansible) and how applications fit into them.Ability to read logs, metrics, and traces using Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.Mindset Fit for Gaming
Passion for building reliable, real‑time systems that support uninterrupted gameplay.Strong sense of ownership for application behavior in production.Curious about how integrations, infrastructure, and automation influence application design.Excellent communicator in English (Fluent / Native) and French (Fluent / optional), comfortable collaborating across technical teams in a fast‑paced gaming environment.
