Position Overview :

The Plastic Injection Molding Technician is responsible for the efficient and safe operation of injection molding machines to produce high-quality plastic parts.

This role requires a strong understanding of the injection molding process, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while adhering to strict quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Set up and operate injection molding machines and associated auxiliary equipment proficiently.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of mold and injection machine operations, executing full-part to full-part set-ups and start-ups.
  • Monitor and fine-tune machine parameters, including temperature, pressure, and cycle time, to ensure peak production efficiency and part quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, encompassing cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting minor issues.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of finished parts to identify defects and guarantee compliance with quality standards.
  • Maintain production records, promptly reporting any discrepancies or concerns.
  • Adhere to safety procedures and regulations to foster a secure work environment.
  • Undertake mold changes and manage machine and material setups.
  • Proficiently utilize measuring tools, such as a micrometer.
  • Execute physical duties requiring average strength, including manual lifting and working in tight spaces.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes.

What You Bring to Ampco :

  • Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in injection molding operations.
  • Strong understanding of the injection molding process.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and work instructions.
  • Exceptional mechanical aptitude and adept problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
  • Preference for experience in an ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 manufacturing facility.
  • Experience with LEAN and 5S principles is advantageous.

  • Schedule : 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday 7 : 00am - 3 : 30pm.
  • Pay Range : The typical hiring range for this position is from $25.00 - $36.00 hourly; the base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
