In this role, you'll be the maestro behind their Canadian payroll operations, ensuring accuracy in salary computations, tax deductions, and company contributions.

Responsibilities :

  • Take the helm of all things payroll-related, from regular wages to incentives and extraordinary payments.
  • Verify timesheets with precision and allocate hours to the appropriate cost centers.
  • Input new hires, terminations, and adjustments into the payroll system with impeccable accuracy.
  • Reconcile payroll and benefits-linked accounts within the general ledger like a pro.
  • Ensure compliance with Canadian legislation and organizational policies in all payroll computations and processes.
  • Keep meticulous records of employee data and attendance, whether it's through manual or automated systems.
  • Craft detailed salary statements for employees, highlighting both gross and net earnings as well as deductions.
  • Oversee the company's group RRSP plan and manage benefits like a boss.
  • Handle all necessary documentation for benefits management, including pension schemes and medical insurance.
  • Prepare and submit payroll-related paperwork, such as annual tax statements and Employment Records, with finesse.
  • Produce and oversee statistical reports and summaries relating to pay and benefits accounts, revealing insights like a true data wizard.
  • Address employee queries and communications regarding payroll matters with empathy and expertise.
  • Conduct account reconciliations, including benefits, stock options, and year-end assessments, with precision.
  • Dive into occasional projects as needed, bringing your expertise to the table.
  • Contribute to the formulation or execution of payroll policies, protocols, or procedures, shaping the future of our payroll operations.
  • Fulfill other duties as necessary to advance organizational objectives and keep the payroll magic flowing.

Requirements :

  • Hold a diploma or bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Possess a PCP Designation from the National Payroll Institute, showcasing your payroll prowess.
  • Bring at least five years of hands-on experience in Canadian payroll operations to the table, along with proficiency in payroll software.
  • Have a thorough understanding of Canadian / BC payroll regulations and statutory framework, ensuring compliance at every turn.
  • Showcase advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, as your trusty sidekick.
  • Possess a keen eye for detail, a passion for precision, and a customer-centric approach that sets you apart.
  • Demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills, making complex payroll matters easy to understand.
  • Be able to work independently and efficiently manage tasks, showing your ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism, ensuring trust and integrity in all payroll matters.
