What you will do

You will support youth (aged 13-18 years) in a variety of programs that support their physical, social and mental wellbeing, personal development, leadership skills, and more.

You will work as a part of the YMCA of Three Rivers Youth Team to plan, promote, implement and facilitate a variety of programs (including, but not limited to : Youth Sports, Teen Basketball, Food Sense, Youth Drop-In, Youth Swim, etc.

to meet the changings needs of youth in our community.

You will create a welcoming and inclusive space for all youth. You will support youth in discovering their personal identity regardless of gender, ethnicity, socio-economic status.

You will build strong, positive and trusting relationships with youth. You will inspire youth to have perspectives that promote a positive point of view of self and others.

You will facilitate connections to networks and opportunities that enable youth to discover their potential.

What you will bring

You will have experience working or volunteering with youth (13-18 years) from a variety of backgrounds and experiences. In addition, you will have experience facilitating programming and a strong understanding of healthy adolescent development.

You demonstrate strong leadership, communication and relationship building skills. You are committed to assisting youth develop new skills and have a demonstrated ability to work independently, while working towards achieving set goals.

Experience in program planning for recreational, camp or community programming is an asset. Post-secondary education in Child and Youth Work, Social Sciences, Recreation and Leisure or a related field, is an asset.

You are committed to supporting justice, access, inclusion, diversity and equity for all youth.

Youth Sports Programs : You have experience facilitating / coaching or personal background participating in sports. Basic knowledge of fundamentals, rules, drills and game play for a number of sports is an asset.

Cooking Program : A background / interest and basic knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and food safety procedures are an asset.

You have or are willing to obtain a Safe Food Handling certificate.
