Recruitment Process
- Brief Call : Our process typically begins with a brief virtual / phone conversation to get to know you! The objective? Learn about you, understand your motivations, and make sure we have the right job for you!
- Interviews (the average number of interviews is 3 - the number may vary depending on the level of seniority required for the position). During the interviews, you will meet people from our team : your line manager of course, but also other people related to your future role. We will talk in depth about you, your experience, and skills, but also about the position and what will be expected of you. - Case study : Depending on the position, we may ask you to take a test. This could be a role play, a technical assessment, a problem-solving scenario, etc.

Job Description
We are looking for a Formulation Development Chemist who will support the development, optimization, scale‑up, and technology transfer of stable pharmaceutical formulations and their associated manufacturing processes. The role contributes to making products suitable for commercial production, product launch, and commercialization. Projects may involve both internal and external customers.
This position is based in Cambridge, Ontario, on‑site.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership within the pharmaceutical development team and contribute to cross‑functional project teamsDevelop complex liquid and / or semi‑solid formulations and scalable manufacturing processesSource APIs and excipients in compliance with regulatory requirementsDesign and conduct formulation and packaging development studiesManufacture pharmaceutical development lab batches, including :
Weighing, mixing, and blending raw materialsRecording observations and proposing process improvementsPerforming physical testing (pH, temperature, gas levels, pressure, dimensions)Plan and execute accelerated and long‑term stability studiesSet up, operate, and clean laboratory equipment (mixers, homogenizers, tanks)Author formulation and process development protocols, reports, and batch recordsSupport scale‑up activities and technology transfer to commercial manufacturingTrain production operators and support troubleshooting during scale‑up and productionProvide technical support during manufacturing of stability batchesInvestigate process issues in existing formulations and recommend improvementsParticipate in customer project meetings and technical discussionsEnsure compliance with GMP, regulatory, quality, and safety requirementsContribute to SOP development for formulation laboratoriesPerform other related duties as requiredRequirements
B.Sc. in Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutics, Chemical Engineering, or related fieldMaster’s degree or PhD is an assetMinimum 2 years of experience in a pharmaceutical formulation laboratoryExperience with formulation, packaging, and process development of liquid and / or semi‑solid dosage formsGood understanding of regulatory requirementsExperience managing multiple projects in parallelStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsClear written and verbal communicationAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong time‑management and prioritization skillsExperience working in self‑directed team environmentsWorking Conditions
Repetitive laboratory workRegular lifting, pushing, and pulling of laboratory materials and equipmentProlonged periods of sitting and standingSustained visual focus for computer work and document reviewExpected Compensation Range
50K-100K per year. The final compensation offered will be determined based on the candidate’s level of experience, skills, and qualifications, in compliance with applicable pay transparency requirements.
