Job description

Job Overview

The Central Maintenance team looks after our commercial buildings and laundry plant. This role plays a hands‑on part in keeping those spaces safe and functional while building respectful relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Carrying out routine and preventative maintenance.
  • Troubleshooting issues and completing minor repairs related to plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and general building wear.
  • Maintaining strong service levels and positive working relationships with stakeholders.
  • Participating in a shared on‑call schedule.
  • Working safely at all times by following health and safety policies and reporting hazards or injuries immediately.
  • Taking on additional tasks as needed to support the overall operations at BCP.

Qualifications

  • A self‑motivated work style with willingness to learn and take responsibility for assigned tasks.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a practical, logical approach to troubleshooting and problem‑solving.
  • Comfort working independently while using sound judgment to ask for support when needed.
  • A friendly, professional, and service focused approach.
  • Hands‑on experience with building maintenance and plumbing.
  • Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and a sense of ownership over work.
  • Physical ability to handle the demands of the role, including bending, lifting up to 50 lbs above head height, and working safely at heights up to 40 ft on a ladder and 85 ft on a manual lift.
  • A valid Alberta Class 5 driver’s license or eligibility to convert from out of province or overseas.
