Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient‑centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province‑wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.

Position Overview

Under the direction of the Nurse Scheduling Manager, the Scheduling Clerk assists in the maintenance of Direct Service Staff schedules by entering data into the ESP scheduling system, assigning, scheduling and communicating with Direct Service Staff and other relevant disciplines at SMHC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain Direct Service Staff schedules for Registered Nurses, Registered Psychiatric Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Psychiatric Nursing Assistants 1, and Psychiatric Nursing Assistants 2.
  • Enter data into the ESP scheduling system and assign schedules.
  • Communicate with Direct Service Staff and other relevant disciplines.

Experience

  • Minimum of 6 months’ experience scheduling staff in a large 24‑hour environment.
  • Experience with ESP Timekeeping preferred.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment / familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
  • Data entry experience preferred.
  • Education

  • Completion of a high school or equivalent program of studies. Formal training in applied office skills required.
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Ability to interpret collective agreements, acts, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and negotiation skills that result in win‑win outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve scheduling conflicts.
  • Intermediate computer skills including keyboarding, as well as Microsoft Office skills in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
