Electrical Systems Engineer
Job Description
Our client located in Ajax, Ontario is seeking an Electrical Systems Engineer to define requirements applicable to the landing gear system, specific to electrical control and actuation.
Flow-down of the requirements into the sub-system specs and SOW.
CGD certificate required.
This will be a day shift position ( hours per week)
Pay rate- $ per hour
Starting from June , 4 (3 months contract)
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Responsible for systems integration into the aircraft and with other aircraft systems.
- Prepare technical presentations for the customer including coordination of the supplier input.
- Coordinate review of supplier technical documentation.
- Participate in test and development including integrated testing of aircraft systems as required.
- Prepare / review certification documentation as applicable to the landing gear system.
- Drive the detailed definition and review of designs, specifications and documentation, electrical schematics and wiring diagrams for the landing gear (including landing gear control and indication, brake control, nose gear steering) subsystems and aircraft interface, with a specific focus on avionics and electrical systems.
- Liaise with external customers / suppliers as well as internal communications departmentally.
- Define and review test criteria for electrical control systems in relation against industry guidelines RTCA DO- and DO-, DO-.
- Involved in existing programs and proposals.
- Carry out trade studies to establish preferred systems architecture based on safety performance and aircraft level requirements.
- Specify and integrate test instrumentation.
- Active participation in test and development.
Requirements
- Aerospace engineering background with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor or Master's degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Electrical, Engineering Physics or Engineering Science).
- Familiarity with Landing Gear mechanics including actuators, up locks and down locks.
- Familiarity with ARINC .
- Familiarity with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) platforms.
- Experience with MATLAB / Simulink.
- Experience with DOORS requirements management software.
- Understanding and ability to apply safety, reliability and maintainability concepts.
- Strong knowledge of applicable aerospace standards and airworthiness requirements including DO-, DO-, ARP-4 and ARP-1.
- Expert level knowledge of use and application of RTCA DO- for control systems.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
