Summary

Canaan Group is seeking a Senior Documentation Lead to help launch our newly created Fractional AI Documentation Division—an initiative focused on transforming how export-import paperwork is produced, verified, and shared. In this role, you will play a key part in designing clear, repeatable workflows that simplify regulatory requirements and support automation. You bring a continuous improvement mindset, a collaborative approach, and a keen interest in using emerging technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency across documentation processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end documentation for export and import shipments, including Bills of Lading, CERS / AES, e-manifests, ISF, AMS, Commercial Invoices, and Certificates of Origin
• Ensure full compliance with Canadian and U.S. trade regulations
• Design, document, and refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve speed, accuracy, and consistency
• Pilot, test, and scale our new fractional‑AI tooling alongside the Project Cargo & Systems Manager
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, and performance management to a small documentation team
• Serve as the primary documentation liaison between operations teams and clients, ensuring documentation meets expectations and timelines
• Monitor changes in trade compliance and adjust internal procedures accordingly
