Emergency Medicine physician wanted!
Yarmouth Regional Hospital (YRH) is seeking emergency physicians located in in the Town of Yarmouth in Southwest Nova Scotia this regional hospital serves a population of approximately 60,, in three counties.
The successful candidate may also participate in teaching through the family medicine residency program based in Yarmouth and / or with medical students through Dalhousie University.
YRH was originally founded in and has developed into a vast health care complex serving the 58, people of Shelburne, Yarmouth, and Digby Counties.
YRH has inpatient beds and provides a range of primary and secondary services through in-patient, outpatient and satellite programs :
- Dalhousie School of Nursing
- veteran’s unit
- chronic pain clinic
- kidney clinic

Responsibilities
- examine patients, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
- advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- consult and refer to other medical practitioners
- act as a patient advocate
- prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations

Qualifications
- College of Family Physicians of Canada Emergency Medicine certification would be considered an asset
- all applicants must be eligible for licensure with the (CPSNS)
- all family physicians must be eligible for certification with the (CFPC)
- membership with the (CMPA)
