Overview
Leading Marine Structural Engineer, for COWI in North America.
This role involves providing technical knowledge and leadership on marine infrastructure and waterfront projects. You will work with teams across the globe to deliver advanced structural and coastal engineering solutions for ports, maritime facilities, and related waterfront structures.
Responsibilities
- Act as Technical Lead on marine infrastructure projects, overseeing delivery to meet quality standards, schedule, and budget.
- Perform marine structural engineering work for all design phases (concept, basic, detailed) for various project types (inspection / maintenance, repair, expansion, new installations, construction).
- Conduct field work, site inspections, and provide engineering support during construction.
- Perform Engineer of Record duties as required.
- Prepare proposals, specifications, schedules, and cost estimates for engineering projects.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams within COWI to develop and deliver integrated projects.
- Maintain effective relationships with key clients to support growth.
- Represent COWI in external settings (technical committees, conferences, professional bodies) as relevant to marine infrastructure projects.
- Mentor other team members.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering, with a minimum of 12 years of related experience with waterfront structures and structural design.Professional Engineer License (P.Eng.) in British Columbia, or eligible to obtain.Experience delivering marine structural projects for public and private clients.Knowledge of Canadian codes for steel and concrete design; familiarity with international marine codes and standards.Proficiency with structural engineering software; experience with BIM workflows is an asset.Project management and proposal writing experience.Self-motivated, capable of managing change, and able to handle multiple tasks in a shifting environment.Ability to work with staff located remotely around the world.What We Offer

Base compensation : $131,000 to $179,000 for North Vancouver location. Actual compensation varies by education, experience, skill set and / or location.
