Job Description
Responsible for programs and large projects from receipt of purchase order through final installation and customer acceptance. Manages life‑cycle of key customer programs, maintains overall accountability for the program portfolio, serves as the key customer contact, and reports to the Program Steering Committee as required.
Responsibilities
- Lead the program team to execute projects on schedule, at or below budget, delivering the contracted scope of work to all applicable codes and standards.
- Act as the key customer contact for escalations, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining regular written documentation of program events.
- Manage program risks : assess, identify, develop mitigation plans, forecast, and develop program budgets and schedules.
- Oversee program resources, ensure adequate assignment, and manage financial performance : estimate revenue, ensure timely invoicing, monitor receivables, and obtain necessary approvals for on‑time payment.
- Provide accurate financial and resource forecasts and prepare reports for ATS management.
- Demonstrate Extreme Ownership, lead and mentor the Program PM team, conduct regular team meetings, issue weekly program updates, and coordinate the post‑project review process.
- Serve as the customer advocate : deliver maximum customer satisfaction, develop long‑term relationships, and elevate issues to the next level of management as needed.
- Track contract changes, prepare Change Order Requests, review and approve PM‑generated CORs, and ensure changes are executed only after customer agreement.
- Recognize Change Order opportunities, execute them ethically, support sales with customer visits and presentations, and promote aftermarket service offerings.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards and comply with ATS Code of Business Conduct and all applicable safety, health, and environmental (HSE) standards.
Qualifications
Engineering degree or equivalent in electronics, electrical, mechanical or controls engineering.Experience managing automation programs in excess of $25 million with multidisciplinary teams.Experience managing automation programs that involve multiple projects and managing Project Managers within those programs.Practical working knowledge of the automation industry and customer processes.Preferred manufacturing or process engineering background, strong mechanical aptitude and proven problem‑solving skills.Strong leadership, negotiation / dealmaking, problem‑solving, customer skills, technical and business knowledge.Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and AutoCAD or similar drawing package.Must have a minimum of five years’ experience in a variety of programs / markets on a multidisciplinary team.Completion or in process of achieving the Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is an asset; a second business degree or diploma is an asset.Key Attributes
