Heavy Equipment Technician / Mechanic

LOCATION : Winnipeg, MB

WORK ENVIRONMENT : In-Shop

TYPE : Full-Time (Monday-Friday)

SUMMARY :

The Heavy Equipment Technician will perform mechanical repairs, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting and pre-delivery inspections (PDI's) on a variety of equipment that is represented by Joe Johnson Equipment (JJE) in a timely and effective manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Licensed Heavy Equipment (421A) or Truck & Coach Technician (310T) preferred
  • 2+ years’ experience as a Licensed Mechanic or 3+ years’ working experience
  • Valid Driver’s License with Clean Abstract
  • Experienced with hydraulic and / or electrical work

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Perform trouble shooting, mechanical repairs and PDI's on a variety of heavy equipment represented by JJE
  • Conduct repairs in a timely and effective manner, communicating effectively with the Service Writer and Parts team to ensure optimal efficiency
  • Conduct regular preventative maintenance tasks and inspections
  • Communicate with Lead Hand and / or Service Manager regarding job progress and job status changes
  • Maintain organized and safe work area and shop tools

  • Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Company or by the regulations.
