Responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned
  • Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines
  • Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
  • Provide assistance as necessary for all internal and external audits related to payroll
  • Manage payroll information requests and questions
  • Manage employee deductions and other liabilities
  • Draft reports by organizing all summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages
  • Collect and analyze information including resolving payroll discrepancies
  • Managing payroll information by keeping proper records for collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • Follow established policies and procedures to maintain payroll operations and report changes as necessary
  • Maintain all updates of payroll records by tracking changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department / division transfers
  • Manage and review, including verify, source documents
  • Determining payroll liabilities by calculating employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
  • Draft relevant year-end reports, as well as weekly, monthly, and quarterly ones, for department heads

Job Requirements :

A Successful candidate Will Have :

  • Less than one year of experience is acceptable
  • Certified Payroll detail oriented designation preferred
  • Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
  • Command of Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills
  • Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Coding Invoices
  • Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
  • Previous experience using accounting software
  • Proficient knowledge of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
  • Mastery of internal controls
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
