ROLE PURPOSE
To provide caretaking and maintenance duties to all the agency’s buildings, grounds and units, as laid out in the building’s maintenance and janitorial schedule per the agency’s Health and Safety Standard as set out in the deliverables of the contract.

Average of 20 to 40 hours per week

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintain, repair and clean all common areas including touching up paint, tile and drywall repairs, and spot cleaning carpets / walls as required and / or as per janitorial / maintenance schedules and tasksPerform preventative maintenance and repairs on buildings equipment (i.e. carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, mechanical systems & equipment)Identify and rectify any deficiencies or maintenance issues and advise Connective of any concernsMaintain and repair entry systems (i.e. doors, locks, hinges, key card systems, garage doors / openers, window locks)Maintain grounds including trimming trees / bushes, cutting lawns and removal of debris and leaves as requiredMaintain walkways, decks, patios and stairs including snow removal and de-icing as requiredAssist in conducting quarterly, semi-annually and yearly inspections, and spot inspections as requiredClean, paint, move furniture and repair units upon vacancy, as requiredPack resident belongings upon vacancy and record all items per Connective’s Policy & Procedures, as requiredComplete small wares loss report upon vacancy, per Connective’s Policy & Procedures, as requiredEnsure all appliances are in good working orderMaintain, repair and install furniture / window coveringsProvide all paperwork and / or documentation including maintenance logs and fire safety records as requiredRespond to emergency calls after-hours as requiredOther duties as requiredQUALIFICATIONS
Grade 10 or equivalentMinimum of 1-year general maintenance experienceWHMIS certificate (or to be obtained within 30 days of contract start date at Contractor’s cost)Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishREQUIREMENTS

The wage range for this position is $20 to $26 per hour
Preference will be given to individuals who have their own liability and WorskSafe BC coveragesImportant
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada, observe their weekly hours limit if under a temporary or study visa, and provide proof of eligibility if selected for the role.
