Position Summary
Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Finance, the Director, Financial Performance provides strategic leadership in the Commission’s internal budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight functions. The role is central to advancing financial stewardship across the organization by ensuring that internal financial data is leveraged to inform executive decision‑making, resource allocation, and organizational performance.
The Director leads the development of internal financial reporting for the Executive Committee, Board of Commissioners, and other governance bodies, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and accountability frameworks. The position is responsible for evaluating budget utilization and resource alignment across programs, and for identifying opportunities to optimize financial performance and manage budget pressures. The attached Job Description is shared across two Director positions; this role focuses on Internal Budget and Financial Performance responsibilities.
A key component of the role is the strategic ownership of financial systems. The Director champions the use of technology as an enabler of financial stewardship, ensuring that systems are aligned with business needs, support forecasting discipline, and are effectively adopted across the organization. The incumbent also plays a leadership role in cross‑functional transformation initiatives, embedding financial accountability into organizational change efforts and supporting the implementation of Strategy 2030.
