Job Description
IAA, an RB Global, Inc. company, is seeking a Yard Attendant to join our team. Yard Attendants enjoy working in the elements, are detail‑oriented, and often have a passion for cars. While safety is paramount, they understand the importance of quick and smooth operations.
Responsibilities
- Vehicle check‑in by recording and filing information on vehicles assigned to the facility.
- Detail vehicles (thoroughly clean) to improve appearance and value at auction, with training provided.
- Operate passenger vehicles in a safe manner, moving vehicles around the facility and / or participating in drive‑through auctions.
- Recover keys, license plates, and other items from vehicles at the facility and store them appropriately.
- Assist visitors by providing guidance and advising them to the appropriate person for additional assistance.
- Train and develop on the job in forklift and loader operation.
Qualifications
High school diploma (or equivalent).Positive, upbeat demeanor for customer interaction.Basic automotive repair skills or experience in rental or construction preferred.Experience in equipment rental, construction industry, or related field preferred.Physical Demand Highlights
Apply security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect assets.Use personal protective equipment (safety gloves, safety glasses).Follow industry‑specific regulations related to hazardous materials.Lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs constantly; frequently 50 lbs; occasionally over 100 lbs.Reach outward, handle, finger objects; stand, walk, sit; bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, crawl.Work primarily outdoors in all weather.Remain alert to hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles.Working Conditions
