Role description :
Arcadis is seeking a Hazardous Building Materials Field Technician to join our team in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area), Ontario.
As a Hazardous Building Materials Field Technician, you will assist project managers with assessment, design, and oversight of hazardous materials abatement project.

Role accountabilities :
The successful candidate will co-ordinate and execute activities assigned by Project Managers pertaining to the design, implementation and management of hazardous materials assessment and abatement projects and occupational health exposure assessments.
This includes conducting site visits and inspections, performing air sampling, monitoring remediation activities, and preparing field notes and reports.
The preferred candidate will have an interest in taking on increasing responsibilities, including preparations of technical specifications.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy with ability to work some evenings and / or weekends.
Responsibilities will include :
- Conduct site investigations for hazardous materials including asbestos, lead, mould, etc.
- Conduct indoor air quality assessments, noise assessments, radon monitoring and worker exposure assessments
- Completion of designated substance surveys
- Manage field notes and prepare technical reports
- Availability to work some evenings and / or weekends
- Valid drivers license required as this role will require travel to site
Qualifications & Experience :
- Technical Diploma or Bachelor Degree in Environmental Science, Building Sciences, Engineering, Architecture, Occupational Health and Safety, Construction-related field or related field preferred.
- 3+ years practical experience conducting designated substance surveys and abatement monitoring.
