Job Summary : Water truck drivers are responsible for navigating around the City of Edmonton, ensuring that client specified areas and vegetation are watered for the spring and summer.
Responsibilities :
Will operate water truck and dump truck.
Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
Follow appropriate safety procedures for transporting dangerous goods.
Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
Maintain logs of working hours or of vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations.
Inspect motor vehicles.
Follow safety procedures for vehicle operation.
Inspect cargo to ensure it is properly loaded or secured.
Record operational or production data.
Record service to repair activities
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements :
A High School Diploma or higher.
Ability to work as a crew member in a physically demanding environment.
Motivated to work both independently and as a team member and with good time management.
Ability to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
Working around excessive noise from machines, chainsaws, woodchipper and must wear proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record, air brakes endorsement a plus.
Ability to work long hours and overtime during emergencies (including holidays, weekends, storm work) and will be subject to call-out work.
Must have valid First-Aid and CPR cards.
