Here's what we're looking for

We're looking for an experienced Legal Executive Assistant to join our team and make a real impact. In this role, you'll be the right hand to our Co-Founder and the left hand to our VP of Legal, ensuring seamless operations and support.

You will work closely with our Legal and Operations teams, playing a crucial part in our daily activities.

We need someone who is highly organized, exceptionally detail-oriented, with strong multitasking abilities. As the primary point of contact, you'll need to exercise diplomacy, maintain confidentiality, and demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills.

Your daily responsibilities

  • Review, analyze, draft, and negotiate contracts and legal agreements with 3rd parties, including NDAs;
  • Manage communications, schedule and manage appointments and meetings using Outlook, and organize complex travel plans, itineraries, and agendas;
  • Manage company books, resolutions, certificates, and ensure proper filing and scanning of documents;
  • Advise on internal legal situations, such as employee issues and internal policies;
  • Conduct legal research for finance and technology-related products and other legal matters;
  • Research, create documentation, and assist in implementing internal best practices on legal issues, such as francisation, employment contracts, and employee benefits;
  • Supervise and support the employee managing lender and credit licenses;
  • Assist in planning and setting up the budget, maintain a tracking system, and coordinate the processing, approval, and payment of external legal counsel fees and expense reports;
  • Perform secretarial duties, including typing correspondence and memoranda, setting up meetings and conference calls, and managing email and correspondence;
  • Design, create, proofread, and update Microsoft PPT presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and Word documents;
  • Assist the Legal & Operations Departments in various projects as needed.

Your skills and experience

  • A degree in Business Administration, Paralegal studies, Laws or a related field;
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a business or law firm;
  • Strong organizational skills in filing, scanning and managing legal documents;
  • Expert in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
  • Demonstrated ability to produce high quality work with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Experience in reviewing and negotiating legal and confidentiality agreements with third parties;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and DocuSign for the preparation of legal documents and letters;
  • Ability to follow up with other staff and third parties regarding financing transactions;
  • Knowledge of employment law and internal policies to provide legal advice to employees;
  • Ability to conduct and present legal research on various issues related to product development and internal best practices;
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion.
