RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre.
Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University.
The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
Position summary
We are seeking dynamic, energetic, and motivated applicants for a post-doctoral fellowship in HIV, hepatitis C, and other sexually transmitted and bloodborne infections (STBBIs) among substance using and legal involved populations within the research group led by Dr.
Nadine Kronfli, MD MPH, in infectious Diseases and Chronic Viral Illnesses at the Research Institute of McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC).
In particular, the goals are to inform public health policymaking through evaluating the impact of prison-based interventions among people who inject drugs and who are incarcerated.
General Duties
This highly interdisciplinary research will involve collaboration with epidemiologists, clinicians, statisticians, policymakers, and public health researchers.
Scholars will benefit from weekly seminars and trainee sessions on substance use, HIV. HCV and related infections, journal clubs, and grant writing groups.
Travel may be required as part of the fellowship.

Education : Doctorate Degree
Field of Study : epidemiology, applied mathematics, statistics, or related fields
Work Experience : A minimum of 1-year of relevant experience in public health or policy

Other Requirements :
- Strong quantitative and writing skills,
- Interest in advancing public health policy,
- Strong interest in working with vulnerable populations and infectious diseases,
- Significant scientific contributions and publications,
- Experience with statistical modeling and data analysis in a clinical research setting,
- Strong programming skills : advanced R or a similar program,
- Strong organizational and communication skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,
- Language requirements : English and French (spoken and written).
