Our Client : Desgagnés Logistik Inc. is the official stevedoring partner for the Port of Valleyfield. It offers a full range of high-value-added logistics services, including transshipment, stevedoring, warehousing, consolidation, assembly, packaging, crating, and freight transportation.
Main Responsibilities : Implementation of Prevention Strategies : Execute health and safety (H&S) prevention strategies developed by the corporate team, identify key indicators, and oversee operational teams.
Compliance and Document Updates : Ensure that operational documents comply with current standards, laws, and regulations, as well as client requirements.
Inspections and Recommendations : Conduct site inspections, recommend and follow up on preventive or corrective measures.
Incident Investigations and Follow-up : Participate in or lead incident investigations, provide support to teams, and ensure proactive follow-up.
H&S Trend Analysis : Analyze trends related to H&S incidents, identify causes, and implement preventive measures.H&S Training Follow-up : Oversee and update H&S training for employees and managers.
Committee and Working Group Participation : Actively participate in H&S committees and other relevant working groups for the business unit.
Required Qualifications and Desired Skills : Education : College diploma in H&S management or equivalent.Experience : Minimum of 3 years in H&S prevention, ideally in a unionized environment and under federal / provincial jurisdiction;
experience in maritime transportation is an asset.Knowledge : Proficiency in H&S laws and regulations (RCSST, Canadian Labor Code).
Languages : Bilingual in French and English, both spoken and written.Technical Skills : Proficient in MS Office Suite.Personal Qualities : Detail-oriented, organized, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Versatility : Ability to balance administrative tasks with on-site presence.Teamwork : Strong aptitude for collaboration.
