• Job Summary :
• The Engineering Solutions Co-op Student will assist with various projects and tasks within the distribution and industrial engineering departments. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in warehouse design, process optimization, and technology implementation.
• Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
• Update and maintain documentation for standardized workflows and procedures.
• Assist with warehouse reconfiguration initiatives and support the implementation of new material handling technologies.
• Analyze current warehouse technology and assist in developing recommendations for improvements.
• Participate in the development of productivity standards using time study methods.
• Support ongoing facility maintenance programs, including racking inspections and safety checks.
• Assist in the research and documentation of advanced warehouse automation systems.
• Contribute to process improvement projects aimed at increasing efficiency and reducing costs within the distribution network.
• Provide support for the creation and analysis of operational strategies focusing on safety, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
• Skills, Experience, Education, Certifications :
• Currently enrolled in an Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related program.
• Familiarity with basic concepts of warehouse and distribution operations is a plus.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office; experience with AutoCAD is an advantage but not required.
• An understanding of LEAN principles or Six Sigma methodologies is beneficial but not essential.
• Competencies :
• Ability to accurately maintain documentation and follow safety procedures.
• Capable of analyzing processes and systems to recommend improvements.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with various stakeholders.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.This role can be based out of any of our 3 distributions centres across Canada :
