As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon‑led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025, Aecon will support the construction of Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.
Reporting to the Continuous Improvement Manager, this position is responsible for assisting with the deployment of Continuous Improvement activities and initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Assist with process, tools, personnel, and workshops with lessons learned.Plan key problem‑solving workshops, track actions with owners to ensure effectiveness.Assist with Building Smarter Innovations program on site.Triage process and categorize incoming items to ensure closed loop system compliance.Support CI Manager in rollout and communications of the Excellence in Nuclear Construction (ENC) Initiative.Schedule, attend and facilitate ENC workshops.Follow up on action tracking with owners to ensure timely rollout of ENC phased approach.Plan and implement activities (T‑Process, Last Planner System) as required by the project.Promote a nuclear safety culture and support Human Performance program management.Gather metrics and create reports and scorecards.Train key staff and conduct paired Waste Walks in field and office settings.Assist with implementation and ongoing maintenance of a BIG Room.Provide input and administrative oversight of Layered Leadership Models.Train personnel on Waste Walk and elimination methodologies.What You Bring
Post‑secondary education in Engineering or Business.Experience in Continuous Improvement and Operational Excellence.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook).Experience with Electronic Document Management Systems (asset).Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.Self‑motivated, able to work effectively with minimal direction.Strong organizational skills to manage multiple deadlines and tasks under pressure.Commitment to safety and adherence to instruction and policy.Team‑oriented work style.Valid driver’s license.We strongly encourage applicants who identify as Indigenous to apply to work with us on the Darlington New Nuclear Project.
