About FIND

Find is a social enterprise with two goals : providing essential furnishings free of charge to individuals and families who are moving out of homelessness through Housing First, and supplying low-cost, quality furniture and housewares for sale to the public.

Find is looking for a passionate and excited Retail Sales Associate to join our team. This position works out of Find Edmonton at street in Edmonton, Alberta.

Position Summary

At your core, you should be passionate about helping people. We work with a diverse group of people to help our most vulnerable friends transition out of homelessness and into their new home through the Housing First program and human connection is a must.

You have a positive attitude, love working with different types of people, like to get a work out in while you work and have great attention to detail.

Duties & Responsibilities

As a Retail Sales Associate at Find, you will be responsible for day-to-day operations that include providing outstanding customer service, working with merchandise, and performing transactions.

You will be an ambassador for our mission to end homelessness in Edmonton and will work towards this goal by approaching sales with a customer service mindset.

To excel in this role, you should be passionate about helping people and have excellent attention to detail. We work with a diverse group of people, and human connection is essential.

You should have a positive attitude, enjoy working with different types of people, and be willing to assist the rest of the Find team as needed.

Your responsibilities will include assisting customers in making selections, processing payments, completing sales-related processes, and arranging for take away, customer pick-up, or delivery, among other duties.

You will also assist in pricing, stocking, and displaying merchandise on the retail floor, inspecting all donated items that come into our warehouse, and ensuring that they are taken to their appropriate areas in a timely manner.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of High School or GED equivalent.
  • Proficiency in modern technologies and web-based programs and apps
  • Open and transparent communication skills written and verbal
  • Availability Monday-Sunday to work up to hours per week
  • Ability to work in steel toe shoes / boots
  • Ability to lift up to lbs
  • Solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience and an understanding of Indigenous culture and traditions, as well as working knowledge of the state of homelessness in Edmonton and across the country, are considered assets.
  • Experience working in a retail environment is preferred.
  • Clear criminal record check

This position requires availability on weekends
