CGSB Level 2 Radiographic Technician

Team Industrial is currently recruiting for CGSB Level 2 Radiographic Technicians for call-out work local to Fort McMurray.

Summary

We require capable individuals with a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn. Familiarity with current inspection codes and methods is required.

The position will be for call-out work local to Fort McMurray and seconded to one client site. Team is willing to hire a team of an RT technician and CEDO.

This position will work directly with our dispatcher and will be supported by our quality manager and Edmonton operations manager.

Job Duties

  • Perform various Gamma ray and X-ray inspections.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Will conduct NDT inspections and interpret results to current codes and standards.
  • Required to interpret codes, standards, procedures, and other documents with regards to the NDT method.
  • Set up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment.
  • Perform inspection techniques for proper examination of material while ensuring strict adherence to safety regulations.
  • Organize and report test results.
  • Be competent with computers and Microsoft Excel reporting.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports.
  • Plan daily and long-term maintenance activities. This includes priority setting in consultation with operations, maintenance and technical input.
  • May instruct and supervise trainees.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • CGSB Level 2 Certification in Radiography.
  • Experience using NDT techniques, procedures and equipment in the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform inspections and to interpret results.
  • Knowledge of applicable industrial codes and standards.
  • The ability to produce objective reports
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated diplomacy and professionalism.
  • Interest in developing technical skills through both internal and external training.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.
  • Professional / mature demeanor under stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision : must be self-directed.
  • Ability to understand procedural manuals and execute work orders.
  • Ability to setup, calibrate, operate and maintain NDE equipment.
  • Ability to prepare reports and documentation.
  • Preference will be given to people with multiple NDE tickets.
  • May require the ability to lift and carry materials.
  • Comply with all Team Industrial Services policies and procedures, as well as Federal and Provincially mandated legislation and regulations.
  • Attend industrial safety training courses as required.
  • Submit to a pre-employment and pre-access D&A screening test.

Work Conditions

  • Some travel may be required.
  • Ability to attend and conduct toolbox talks.
  • Manual dexterity required to use a computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Weekend work may be required.
  • Work both indoors and outdoors.
  • May be exposed to hazards associated with the oil and gas industry.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75lb.
  • Regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and noxious fumes.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
  • Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
  • Noise level may be loud and require hearing protection.
  • Must be able to quickly move arms and legs.
  • Excellent stamina is required.
