Position Summary

Thales Canada, Defence & Security (TCDS) is engaged in supporting the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) through its In-Service Support (ISS) Programs. Between then-Service Support (AJISS) and Minor Warships & Auxiliary Vessels (MWAV) programs, Thales Canada provides support to over 70% of the RCN fleet. Thales Canada is leveraging cutting edge solutions to deliver preventative and corrective maintenance, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), Program Management, Engineering and Lifecycle Material Management (LCMM), and new capabilities to numerous platforms.
Thales Canada is looking for people interested in directly contributing to Engineering Change (EC) in the MWAV program. A multi-disciplinary team develops and delivers enhanced and new capabilities for RCN platforms through a broad portfolio of EC projects. We are looking a candidate to support the communication and radar systems for the MWAV program preferably with and Electrical Engineering background (or Mechanical Engineer with the relevant experience) to deliver Engineering work products through all stages of the EC process. Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts and practices is beneficial. A demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and processes is considered an asset.
Key Areas of Responsibility
Thales is the design authority for the program and as a result require Licensed Engineers to work on the program. You will be required to stamp design documentation and drawings. The engineer would need to be licensed with either the province of British Columbia or Nova Scotia.
In their efforts to develop and sustain mission systems, Systems Engineers are called upon to integrate a variety of sensors, software, firmware, and apps on commercial and military platforms. The essential functions and responsibilities of a Systems Engineer include :

Having a comprehensive understanding of Class requirements, Lloyds Register and DNVGL Rules & Regulations, IEC standards, IMO Regulations, SOLAS regulations, Transport Canada marine Acts and Regulations, is considered to be an asset
Minimum Qualifications
Possess a minimum of four years of demonstrated marine work experience in engineering within the last 10 years

Special Position Requirements
The anticipated Total Target Compensation (TTC), inclusive of annual salary and bonus eligibility, for this role is based on $ 92,140.54 - $122,854.05 CAD range. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's status protected by local, provincial, and federal laws.
