RVA is seeking an Intermediate Transportation Design Technologist to work on a variety of transportation infrastructure projects that support and enhance community mobility. The role requires contributing to multimodal projects involving roadways, highways, bridges, traffic engineering, and transportation planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering and technical expertise on multi‑disciplinary projects
- Participate in studies, assessments, modeling, and design using AutoCAD / Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation InRoads / OpenRoads
- Contribute to reports, drawings, and other engineering documents
- Prepare designs for municipal road reconstructions, water / sewer systems, site grading, and stormwater management
- Communicate with clients, consultants, and contractors under supervision
- Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines and budgets
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including specifications, quantities, and construction estimates
- Mentor junior engineers and technologists as needed
Qualifications
Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited institution3–7 years of experience in municipal / transportation design engineering, preferably with consulting experienceStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsUnderstanding of highway geometric design principles, grading, and drainageFamiliarity with municipal and provincial transportation design standardsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentBenefits
