This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your expertise will be essential in defining, improving, and optimizing the manufacturing and assembly processes for aircraft components.
The key responsibilities of a Methods Engineer will include but are not limited to :
- Create and revise EM and WI to define parts, processes, sequences, and special instructions for purchasing or building parts / assemblies.
- Develop clear, concise manuals to define assembly requirements and special instructions for structural, system, and electrical installations on aircraft.
- Create and update documents to fully define the build sequence of aircraft assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Record and submit ECRs for changes to build, design, and tools, improving efficiency and quality of builds, including Make vs Buy decisions.
- Investigate root cause of manufacturing problems and liaise with other functions to analyze potential solutions by evaluating cost, impacts and risks of a change in production
- Assist Planning with Non-Conformance Management tasks, including work order instructions.
A successful candidate will have the following qualifications / experience :
A degree or diploma in Engineering or Engineering Technology (or equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience, e.
g., Aircraft Maintenance Engineer, Assembler).
- 5+ years of progressive experience in a large component manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace.
- Familiarity with cost accounting and cost estimating processes.
- Familiar with computer aided design software
