What you will do :
As a Product Design Engineer, Mechanical Systems, you will support technical topics (research, studies, calculations, design concepting), prepare and submit design changes and participate in engineering activities with the product engineering group.
Apply engineering expertise and knowledge to investigate complex sub-systems, take appropriate actions and communicate clear, actionable insights and recommendations.
Apply mechanical systems knowledge and problem-solving skills to support design, supplier, production and customer issues.
Apply engineering science and mathematical principles to explain and evaluate mechanical systems for functional variability and durability.
Take a first principles approach to problem solving and root cause analysis. Support theories and hypothesis by confirming assumptions through physical lab and testing evaluation.
Collaborate with subject matter experts and simulation specialists within the group to assess designs and resolve problems.
Communicate with a global engineering, technical liaison, and production team on product design topics.
Support customer specific inquiries with sound engineering principles. Prepare material for customer facing presentations on technical topics.
Modify technical standards submit changes which are aligned with the products group’s technical direction.
What you will bring :
University degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
Strong automotive background and good understanding of internal combustion engines and hybrid vehicle concepts is required.
Design for Manufacturing experience with different type of automotive products.
Proficient with 3D solid modeling in Solidworks environment.
Proficient with MS Office suite of products.
Effective communication and presentation skills in dealing with internal and external customers.
Good project management capability
