The Opportunity :
Reportingto the General Manager the DOSM is responsible for planning andoverseeing the sales & marketing efforts of the hotelspecifically the achievement of targeted room revenues average rateclosed group business room nights catering revenues and RevPARindex.
Accountable for the overall direction and leadership of theSalesTeam.
Whatyou will be doing :
- Manage thepropertys reactive and proactive salesefforts
- Oversee the sales function in theachievement of targeted room sales andcatering
- Prepare annual rooms andcatering revenue budget
- Develop andimplement propertywide annual strategic marketingplan
- Prepare annual sales &marketing operational budget
- Workclosely with DORM to maximize rate during periods of compressionand occupancy and RevPAR gain during softperiods
- Maintains successfulperformance by increasing revenues controlling expenses andproviding a return on investment for the owner and thebrand.
- Attend sales / revenue strategymeetings to provide input on weekly and overall salesstrategy.
- Suggests innovativemarketing ideas and develops deployment strategies to continue togrow market share and overall hotelrevenues.
- Set goals for all sellersand develop sales action plans. Work with sellers toensure they effectively carry out theirobjectives.
- Address performanceissues and holds staff accountable for successfulresults.
- Identify coaching trainingand leadership needs for the Sales Team and devise methods ofdelivery
- Analyze of monthly salesachievements
- Chair monthlydepartmental Sales & Catering meetings ensuring ongoingeffective communication of financial results strategic directionand general hotelinformation
- Participates in hotelguest satisfaction initiatives
- Activemember of the executive team of thehotel
- Develops strong partnershipswith local organizations to further increase brand / productawareness.
- Develops and managesinternal key stakeholderrelationships.
- Develops strongcommunity and public relations by maintaining propertyparticipation in local regional and national tradeshows and clientevents.
Qualifications :
- Minimum 3 yearssales leadership experience in a large full servicehotel
- Diploma Hotel and RestaurantManagement or Business Degree would be anasset
- Superior written and verbalcommunications skills
- Demonstratedskills in leading a team and selling in a luxury environment with apattern of exceptionalresults
- Results oriented veryorganized highly motivated and able to work underpressure
