About the role

Reporting to the Director of Development, the Development manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of our residential development projects.

You will be working cross-functionally and liaising with stakeholders, ensuring that all aspects of development align with organizational objectives.

The Development manager is great at cultivating strong relationships with stakeholders including local engineers, lawyers, city officials, inventors, and community members.

What you’ll be doing

  • Defining project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business objectives in collaboration with the senior leadership team and internal stakeholders
  • Tracking and overseeing full project schedules to ensure milestones and timelines are being met
  • Estimating the resources and participants required to achieve project goals
  • Ensuring proper financial management of the project, working alongside the Finance and Accounting Providing leadership for project team by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones
  • Aligning with all project team members to ensure that designs, budgets and schedules are well coordinated and communicated
  • Managing the day-to-day project activities and resources; Chairs the project team meetings
  • Ensuring that projects and programs are proceeding according to scope, schedule, budget and quality standards
  • Providing status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating frequently to leadership
  • Ensuring proper risk management by documenting all risks and employing an effective mitigation strategy
  • Driving innovation and excellence in your projects through continuous improvement initiatives and staying up to date on industry tends and regulations.

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years of land development experience
  • Project management experience in land development and real estate
  • Extensive understanding of project management principles, methods and techniques
  • Detailed Understanding of all aspects and disciplines within property development i.e. development, servicing, financing, construction, design, and sales
  • Post Secondary education in Project Management, Construction, Real Estate, Land Development, Business or Finance considered an asset
  • Microsoft office 365
  • Valid Drivers License

Annual Salary : $100k - $125k
