Job description

The controls engineer position is to ensure the success of our packaging machinery projects through engineering design, implementation, and testing of the machinery controls.

Write code to control machine motion per requirements
Problem solving and solution recommendation
Provide engineering support to customers
Support the testing and installation of equipment
Support continuous improvement efforts
Assist with training of internal and external customers
Provide support to the Customer Technical Service department

Required Experience & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mathematics or related field or equivalent combination of education and / or experience

Knowledge of programming practices

Knowledge of motion and timing

Mechanical, controls, and electrical system knowledge

Knowledge of electrical and electronic components

Experience or training with PC’s servos, and PLC’s

Previous experience with Rockwell

Experience with Microsoft Office products

Ability to visualize concepts

Ability to accept assignment broad in nature

Ability to work under minimal supervision

Ability to communicate with a variety of people both verbally and in writing, including presentation skills

Self-starter, creative and problem solver

Ability to work independently and execute a plan
