Shift Manager (Weekend, Days)

Job Purpose
Organize and oversee the manufacturing of goods, ensuring the smooth running of all production lines.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Oversight of daily processing and packaging department activities on a 12‑hour basis.
- Develop and implement strategy to continuously improve employee performance, plant efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Review and communicate daily production schedule changes to line supervisors.
- Identify and reduce waste using GMP’s.
- Lead and advocate quality control; utilize visual communication to train and reinforce product specification parameters.
- Enforce and champion health and safety procedures and policies.
- Maintain industry‑leading food safety standards in accordance with BRC and customer specific standards.
- Encourage and coach team members.
- Follow up on validation training with line supervisors.
- Be responsible for production output.
- Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
- Implement strategies aligned with strategic initiatives and provide clear direction.
- Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager to set and achieve company priorities.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, provincial and local requirements.
- Promote the company’s mission, vision and culture of training.
- Collaborate with line supervisors to provide training to new employees.
- Create training material for packaging and processing department.
- Review, measure and report training effectiveness through analytical performance of operators and supervisors.
- Manage disciplinary action procedures, performance improvement plans and annual performance reviews.
- Monitor time and attendance and ensure compliance with Company Procedures.
- Approve vacation requests.
- Carry out incident, accident and non‑conformity investigations and reporting.
- Serve as a Fire Safety Team Member.
- Perform other duties and manage water logs.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Logistics.Conscientious and responsible.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Proven ability to work cross‑functionally.Problem‑solving disposition toward action.Outcome organized – works toward known deadlines, ship dates, and schedules.Customer‑centered operator.Lean and / or Six Sigma training experience.Comfortable with ERP and production planning software.Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and can create and manage documents, spreadsheets, emails and presentations effectively.Working Conditions
