Job Description :

  • We are seeking a skilled Director of Information Technology to lead our IT department and drive the technology strategy of our organization.
  • The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of our IT operations, ensuring the smooth functioning of our systems and infrastructure.

Main Responsibilities :

IT Infrastructure Management :

  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of the company's hardware, software, and network infrastructure.
  • Ensure reliable operation of IT systems, including servers, databases, and network equipment.

Security and Compliance :

  • Implement and maintain security protocols to protect company data and IT assets from cyber threats.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Technical Support and Troubleshooting :

  • Manage the IT helpdesk and provide support to employees for technical issues.
  • Develop and maintain a system for tracking and resolving IT support requests.

Strategic Planning :

  • Develop and implement an IT strategy aligned with the company’s business goals.
  • Plan for future IT needs, including capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity.

Vendor and Budget Management :

  • Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
  • Oversee IT budget, including forecasting, expenditure tracking, and cost optimization.

Team Leadership and Development :

  • Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels and skill sets within the IT department.

Project Management :

  • Oversee IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure IT projects meet organizational needs.

Technology Assessment and Adoption :

  • Stays updated with the latest technology trends and evaluate their applicability to the company.
  • Recommend and implement new technologies that enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

Ensuring Operational Continuity :

Prioritize the availability and reliability of IT systems to minimize downtime and disruptions to business operations.

Enhancing Security Measures :

Focus on strengthening cybersecurity defenses and ensuring data protection to mitigate risks of data breaches and cyber-attacks.

Improving User Support :

Enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT support services to ensure quick resolution of employee issues and minimal impact on productivity.

Driving IT Alignment with Business Goals :

Align IT initiatives with business objectives to support overall company growth and efficiency.

Cost Management :

Optimize IT expenditures while ensuring the company gets the best value from its investments in technology.

Scalability and Future-Proofing :

Plan and implement scalable IT solutions that can grow with the company and adapt to future needs.

Promoting Innovation :

Encourage the adoption of innovative technologies and processes that can provide a competitive edge.

Developing IT Policies and Procedures :

  • Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to standardize operations and ensure consistency.
  • By focusing on these responsibilities and priorities, a Director of IT Operations can effectively manage the company's technology resources, support its business operations, and contribute to its strategic objectives.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-10+ years’ experience in IT.
  • 3+ years' experience in team management, including executives.
  • IT generalist, with a good understanding of IT infrastructure and operations, software development, and business intelligence.
  • Advanced knowledge of Google Enterprise
  • Good knowledge of cloud infrastructure operations.
  • Good knowledge of IT operations processes (incident management, deployment, e.g., ITIL).
  • Good knowledge of DevOps / DevSecOps.
  • Good knowledge of critical high-availability solution management.
  • Ability to plan and organize, clearly communicating strategic objectives and translating them into an operational roadmap, and to distribute the workload fairly and equitably.
  • Demonstrate adaptive leadership by proposing solutions, listening, and asking questions to understand and remain open. Be an exemplary role model, respecting commitments and adapting to people, context, and organization.
  • Know how to communicate by listening attentively and expressing oneself frankly, clearly, and precisely to ensure mutual understanding that is constantly aligned with the organization's strategy.

Quickly share relevant information with all stakeholders.

  • Provide direction by delegating to the right people to bring out the full potential of each individual and encourage teamwork within the department and with other departments to bring out the full potential of the organization.
  • Empower team members to take initiatives based on their skills, strengths, and interests, and ensure rigorous yet respectful management.

Empower department heads to manage their respective teams to achieve the desired management performance.

  • Have managerial courage and take responsibility for decisions and actions, even in complex situations, and provide feedback on both good and bad performance genuinely.
  • Convincingly assumes his role as manager to ensure that his department is positioned as an effective and productive key partner for the organization's other departments.
  • Demonstrate flexible, benevolent leadership and know how to empower team members.
