Tsideldel School Teaching Positions : Tsideldel First Nation in the Chilcotin Grade K4 - Grade 2 and Grade 6 / 7 Teaching Positions.
Tsideldel School is offering two teaching positions for September 2022. There will be available a K4 to Grade 2 (two) (eight students) as well as a Grade 6 / 7 (nine students) teaching position.
Tsideldel is a First Nation Band School located in the heart of the beautiful Chilcotin Plateau, 200 Kilometers west of Williams Lake on Highway 20.
This area is known for its outstanding outdoor activities, such as; hunting, fishing, camping and hiking. The community of Tsideldel is located close to two recreational lakes that are perfect for canoeing and kayaking in the summer and ice fishing or skating in the winter.
The Community of Tsideldel has approximately 360 members. The School works closely with the Community and is an important part of the social and cultural life of all Community Members.
Tsideldel School has five multi-grade classrooms with grades ranging from K4 to Grade 9 (nine). Classes are small with approximately seven to ten students per teacher.
There are many opportunities for students to receive individual attention and instruction from teachers and educational assistants.
The School building includes a large gymnasium and central library / gathering place. Outside there is a brand-new, full-sized skating rink and an outdoor classroom with a woodstove and nearby fire pit.
Teacher Housing : There are two immaculate duplexes which have recently been renovated. Each Duplex unit has two bedrooms, basement and large kitchen as well as wood and propane heat.
Propane and electricity are provided in the very manageable monthly rent. Rental decreases are provided for long term contracts after the first year of successful employment.
Teachers are required to administer all core subject lessons pertaining to the grade levels in the classroom. Knowledge of the British Columbia Curriculum Guide and good record keeping skills, of student progress and achievement, is absolutely essential.
Teachers should be able to work independently, but also be a strong team member of the Tsideldel School Staff.
