ABOUT
Physical and Health Education Teacher
Term:
1 year (renewable)
Full-time with additional teaching responsibilities
Specific Qualities :
Understanding of and affinity for teaching in a Catholic school environment
Dynamic, energetic, willing to work collaboratively with teachers, coaches and parents
BC Teaching Certificate
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
Responsibilities:
Develop effective lessons that follow the BC curriculum for PHE
Instruct classes by demonstrating exercises, providing instructions, and facilitating activities to help students develop physical skills, improve fitness levels, learn about healthy lifestyle choices, and have fun
Ensure student safety
Assess student progress and communicate using Standards Based Grading
Promote health and wellness through teaching and example
Organize extracurricular activities
Collaborate with colleagues and parents
Contribute to the academic and spiritual life of the school
