Our private Canadian client has over 90 years experience in the manufacturing business of select specialty products. They are growing and expanding into the US and have a need for a Canadian Controller.
Reporting to the VP Finance you will enjoy working collaboratively in a small finance team with your focus being on Canadian operations and responsibilities including but not limited to :
- Oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the Canadian business, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for review by senior leadership.
- Manage a new ERP implementation and upgrade.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian tax regulations and provide tax-related guidance.
- Work closely with external auditors and manage audits and tax filings.
- Develop and maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
About you :
- CPA designation required.
- 5+ years experience in full cycle accounting
- Experience working in a private manufacturing company
- Strong knowledge of Canadian tax regulations; familiarity with U.S. tax regulations is a plus.
- Experience with financial ERP systems -implementation or upgrade
- A strong work ethic with a focus on accuracy, detail orientation, and a long-term commitment to the role.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
