AltaGas - Plant Operators (Pipestone Facility)
AltaGas Pipestone is hiring for several Operator roles on our team! The Pipestone facility is a modern sour deep-cut natural gas plant with 110 MMcf / d of processing capacity and 20,000 Bbls / d of liquids handling capacity located in the heart of the Alberta Montney.
The facility includes 67 km of natural gas gathering pipelines tied into key production regions and provides strategic egress connections to the NGTL and the Alliance pipeline systems.
Many of these newly created Operator positions will eventually transition to support our Pipestone Phase II expansion. Pipestone Phase II is a fully permitted, shovel-ready expansion project that will provide an additional 100 MMcf / d of sour deep-cut natural gas processing capacity and an additional 20,000 Bbls / d of liquids handling capabilities.
Completion is expected in 2025.
Operators at the Pipestone Facility work 7 days on / 7 days off cycle, rotating days and nights, consisting of 12-hour shifts.
Please note that this is not a camp-based position. Successful candidates must be willing to relocate to Grande Prairie if not already living in the area.
What You'll Do :
Assist in the daily operation of the Pipestone facility, working the 12-hour day / night shift schedule.
Responsible for the overall safe and efficient operation of the Pipestone Facility.
Assist in the safe and efficient operation of all scheduled and unscheduled work including operations, repairs, and maintenance.
Commissioning, turnaround planning, and start-ups.
Adhere to all AltaGas policies, standards, operating procedures, and practices.
Ensure overall plant production and reliability with process and equipment troubleshooting.
Recognize and avoid inappropriate risks, consider the consequences and impact, and consult with senior personnel before taking action;
report and investigate facility safety incidents.
Update and develop optimal operating procedures.
Participate in critical job checklists, job hazard assessments, and safe work permitting.
Participate as a team member and provide mentorship to peers.
Assist and participate in EH&S meetings & inspections.
What We're Looking For :
Minimum high school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum 4th Class Steam Ticket. Preference will be given to a candidate who holds a 3rd Class Steam Ticket.
Minimum 2-5 years of work experience in facility or pipeline operations.
Gas plant and power generation experience is preferred.
Ability to work a 7-day on, 7-day off shift schedule.
Excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
