Assistant Plant Manager

Adecco is currently hiring a full-time driven, highly organized Assistant Plant Manager to support daily operations in our client's retreading facility in Brampton, ON. This role is essential in ensuring production efficiency, maintaining quality and safety standards, and fostering a positive, high-performing team environment. As the second-in-command to the Plant Manager, you'll help lead staff, optimize production workflows, support equipment maintenance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that keep our operation running at its best. • Pay Rate: $60,000 - $90,000 / annually (based on experience)

Responsibilities:

• Assist in managing and coordinating the retreading process from initial inspection to final finishing.
  
• Support the execution of production schedules to meet customer demands.
  
• Monitor and maintain inventory levels of retread materials and finished goods.
  
• Control and safeguard plant inventory and equipment.
  
• Supervise, coach, and support staff; assist with training and ongoing performance management.
  
• Help with staffing and equipment resource planning based on production requirements.
  
• Lead and motivate the team to achieve production targets, reduce scrap, and increase output.
  
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and streamline production workflows.
  
• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure proper operation and preventive maintenance of equipment.
  
• Assist in implementing quality control measures to uphold high production standards.
  
• Contribute to the analysis of production data and recommend process improvements.
  
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, policies, and industry standards.
  
• Support collaboration with sales, logistics, and other departments to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
  
• Serve as backup to the Plant Manager during absences and assist with additional managerial duties.
  
• Utilize production software to prepare reports and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or equivalent experience.
  
• Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant management role within a manufacturing environment.
  
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  
• Ability to interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
  
• Proficiency with production management software and Microsoft Office (Excel required).
  
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
  
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and a sharp attention to detail.
  
• Knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices in tire retreading (an asset).
  
• Mu st be legally eligible to work, and reside in Canada
